Manhattan Parks and Recreation offers a variety of youth sports throughout the year for kids of all ages and skill levels.

Youth Sports are listed by season of competition. All sports that are listed are everything that could potentially be offered, and not necessarily what is open for registration or what will be offered during that season. Pre-K Programs


My First Soccer

Ages 3 to 6

My First Soccer is a 4-week introductory soccer program. Participants will be introduced to drills and activities to build basic soccer skills. Parent participation is required.

My First Tee Ball

Kindergarten

The spring My First T-Ball is a 4-week program for kindergartners, designed to prepare them for the upcoming Summer of Tee Ball league play. Through drills and other activities, participants will be introduced to the basic skills for Tee Ball. The Pre-K My First Tee Ball is held later in the Summer.

Home School P.E.

Ages 5 to 14

Homeschool PE is a 10-week organized program focusing on exercise, teamwork, and learning and developing skills. Most classes will take place at Eisenhower Recreation Center, but there may be off-site classes held as well.

Optimist T-Ball

Kindergarten

This Tee Ball League Is for children who have completed Kindergarten or in the previous school year. This league is generously sponsored and staffed by the Manhattan Optimist Club.

My First T-Ball

Ages 3 to 5

My First T-Ball is a 4-week instructional T-Ball program. Participants will be introduced to the basic skills of Tee Ball through various activities and drills. Parent participation is required.

My First Football

Kindergarten

My First Football is a 4-week clinic for kindergarteners. Through drills and other activities, participants will be introduced to the basic skills involved in the future play of Football. Parent participation is required.

My First Intro to Sports

Ages 3 to 6

My First - Intro to Sports is a 4-week introductory program that teaches children several general sports skills to prepare them for future participation in MPRD programs. Parent participation is required.

My First Basketball

Ages 3 to Kindergarten

This teaches children the basic motor skills necessary to play organized sports while they spend quality time working one-on-one with their parents. The program focuses on teaching children and their parents basic sports mechanics and the basics of in-game play, in a controlled environment.
