Douglass Batting Cage Rules

Membership & Drop-in Policy

  • Memberships are user-specific and non-transferable. 
  • Do not share your membership or attempt to grant facility access to anyone who is not an active, paid member. 
  • Drop-in users may not grant access to anyone who has not paid the required daily admission fee. 
  • All individuals must check in and pay prior to using the facility. 
  • All drop-in and non–member usage and membership purchases must be made Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm 
    • Key FOBs may be picked up at the Douglass Activity Center during Rec Center hours.  
    • New member access is granted during the Monday-Friday MPRD operational hours. Hours are subject to closure or schedule changes related to holidays and other City-wide operating adjustments. 
  • Unauthorized use or access may result in suspension or termination of membership and suspension from the facility. 
  • NO fee-based private lessons, coaching, or instruction without prior MPRD approval and reservation. 
  • Memberships will be audited frequently to verify appropriate usage policies are being followed.  

Facility Rules

  • No eating, drinking, or chewing gum. Water is permitted. 
  • No locking of any interior doors.
  • Appropriate footwear is required during participation – No metal cleats or spikes, or non-closed toe shoes. 
  • Users under 13 are not permitted without an adult present. 
  • Tunnel 1 is reserved for drop-in users only. 
  • This facility is music-friendly – users may play music at a reasonable volume. All music must be appropriate for a public setting and respectful of others in the facility.  
  • Manhattan Parks and Recreation is not responsible for any damage, lost, or stolen personal equipment and belongings. 
  • All MPRD equipment should remain in the facility, this includes bats, balls, helmets, etc.  
  • One person / batter in the cage with machine use. 
  • Pitchers / machine must be behind protective screen.
  • Check all machine balls for damage prior to usage.
  • Any damage should be reported immediately.
